JOSHUA -- Lewis Henry Isenberg, 73, of Joshua, passed away Tuesday, October 14, 2008. Funeral: 2p.m. Saturday at United Presbyterian Church in Cleburne. Interment: Blum Cemetery. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Friday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorials be made to Johnson County Meals-on-Wheels and the United Presbyterian Church Building Fund. Lewis was born January 21, 1935, in Blum, Texas to the late Royce Isenberg and Clara Lucille Ward. He served in the United States Air Force from 1955 to 1979, including tours of duty in Korea and Vietnam, retiring at the rank of Chief Master Sergeant in San Antonio, Texas. While in the service, Lewis earned a Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree in Computer Science, and later instructed at San Antonio College. After retirement, Lewis returned to the Cleburne, Texas area and was active in Cleburne business and civic activities, including establishing Isenberg Income Tax, serving in the Lions Cub, the Cleburne Chamber of Commerce and the National Association of Tax Practitioners, and chairing the Members Credit Union Board of Directors. Lewis was a long time member of the United Presbyterian Church in Cleburne, serving multiple terms as a member of the church Session. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Anne Opfer; and a step-daughter, Sheron Cunniff. Survivors: Wife, Nelda Cunniff-Isenberg; son, John Isenberg and wife Kristen; daughter, Jennifer Isenberg; step-sons Jerry Cunniff and wife Judy, and Allen Cunniff and wife Karen; sister Sonya Isenberg Gray; nine wonderful grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and many treasured friends.
