Lois Beck, 94, of Burleson Texas, a retired planner for LTV, died Monday, January 24,2023 in Burleson.
Lois Elaine Michael was born September 13, 1928, in Denver, Colorado to Walter A. Michael and Mary J. Staggers. She married Francis J. Beck, July 23, 1968, in Rendon. She loved camping, boating, water skiing, and horseback riding. She was an animal lover and always had one or two dogs and an occasional cat. She was an avid sports fan particularly of The Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys She was an active member of, and volunteer at the First United Methodist Church of Burleson.
Lois grew up in Denver with her older brother and sister, and graduated from East High School before she took her first job as a make-up artist at Olinger's Mortuary. She did not make a career of the mortuary business, but later went to work for Martin Marietta where she met the love of her life, and future husband. Together they moved from Colorado to Texas for jobs at LTV and to start their lives together.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents; a stepdaughter, Joyce Brewer; a sister, Margaret Garner; and a brother, Walter Michael.
She is survived by daughter, Debra Srite and husband Michael of Norman, OK; sons Tim and Brad Riordan, of Burleson; stepdaughter, Susan Warren and husband Bruce of Niwot, CO; grandchildren, Randi, Michael, Kate, Kendra R, Heather, William, Daniel, Tosha, Kendra E, Morgan, and many great grandchildren.
