Lois Jean (Mckinney) Jennings

May 20, 1935 — July 9, 2023

Wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother Lois "Nanny" Jennings entered fully into the presence of the Lord on Sunday, July 9, 2023. She was 88. Lois was a faithful woman who loved the Lord, her family, her Joshua Baptist church family, her TOPS family and really, everyone she met!

Lois was born on May 20, 1935 in Fort Worth, TX and lived a remarkable life filled with compassion, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family and friends. She married Charlie Hue Jennings, Sr. in August 1952. Together they had two earthly sons: Charlie Hue, Jr. and Billy Ray.

Lois embraced a love of life and getting to experience everything! One of her most favorite organizations was TOPS, where she was an active member for over 50 years! For the last 15 years, she was able to attain entry to KOPS which filled her with pride. She was able to travel to great places with her TOPS family and those were great memories for her.

Lois attained the name Nanny, in 1976 and is called that by all us "kids"(grandkids, great grandkids, friends of grandkids, etc). She embraced being Nanny with unparalleled joy and dedication. Her love was unconditional and she showered her kids with endless affection, guidance, and support; some may say she spoiled us!

In addition to her role as a wife, mother and being Nanny, Lois was an extraordinary individual who touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. From her healthcare workers, special roommates, and church friends she was a light in everyone's day. Her best friend, Judy Toney was a special blessing to her and the whole family with her friendship and dedication.

Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Hue Jennings, Sr, two sons Douglas Wayne and Billy Ray, her parents, Eddie and Elva, her sister Barbara, and her brother Kenneth.

She is survived by her son Charlie Hue Jennings, Jr and wife, Terry. Granddaughters Tamara Childress (fiancé Jason) and her son, LCPL Quinton Childress; Erin Doyle and her daughters, Michealla, Hailey and Siddalee Doyle; and Shelia Coggin and husband, Harley and their children, Aydon & Devon Hankins, Chloe, Marisa, and Emma Coggin. Numerous nieces and nephews and other kids that she loved with the same fervor and unconditional love. Her home and heart were open to everyone!
