Lovie Mazell Hoffman, 96, passed away September 16, 2014, in Burleson. Graveside Service: 10:00 AM, Saturday, September 20, 2014. Interment: Crowley Cemetery. Visitation: 6-8 PM, Friday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home. Mazell was born April 30, 1918, in Johnson County to Floyd and Lizzie (Davis) Gilley. She was a food service director for 21 years at Crowley Schools. Mazell enjoyed baseball, vacations, traveling and ceramics. She loved playing bingo and board games. Mazell was a founding member of the The Senior Citizens of Crowley and served over 50 years in the Eastern Star. She was the oldest member of the First Baptist Church of Crowley. Mazell was preceded in death by her husband, Novie L. Hoffman; 3 brothers; and 2 sisters. Survivors: children, Byron Lynn Hoffman and wife Johnnie Ruth of Burleson, Delores Ann Stambaugh of Rio Vista, and Sherry Jean Nelson of Burleson; sister, Audrey Sitton and husband Bobby of Mansfield; 7 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.
