CORSICANA -- Lucille Medford, 90, a homemaker, died Friday, January 27, 2006 in Corsicana. Funeral: 4:00 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church of Joshua. Burial: 4:00 p.m. Tuesday in Dennison Cemetery in Idabel, OK. Visitation: 2-4 p.m. Sunday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home between Burleson and Joshua. Lucille Medford was born Jan. 11, 1916 in Amity ,Arkansas to Marvin Junior and Myrtle Mattie Martin Finney. She attended Hayworth High School in Oklahoma where she played basketball. She married Milton Marvin Medford on April 23, 1937 in Idabel, OK. She was a longtime member of Pine Forest Baptist Church in Vidor until she moved to Joshua with her daughter, Kay, where she had been a longtime member of 1st Baptist Church of Joshua until recently moving to Corsicana with Kay. She currently was a member of North Side Baptist Church in Corsicana. She was an accomplished singer, singing in gospel quartets for many years. She was an excellent seamstress, quilter, craftswoman, and gardener. Gardening was her true love. She taught Sunday School most of her adult life and was loved and respected by everyone who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a sister, Bernice "Kat" McBrayer; brother inlaws, Emerson McBrayer and Trenver McKee. Survivors: Son, D.M. "Pal" Medford of Pineland; daughters, Kay Medford Kammerdiener and husband Greg of Corsicana, Susan Detweiler of Beaumont; sister, Doris McKee of Idabel, OK; grandchildren, Stacey Graham and husband Steve, Shane Medford and wife Valarie, Chris Fowler and wife Michelle, Aaron Fowler, Casey Martin and husband Clayton, Robin Trumble; step grandchildren, Todd Kammerdiener and wife Natalie, Julia Ekpo and husband LLoyd; great grandchildren, Christina Fontenot, Vanessa Medford, Gage Baker, Cody Fowler, Madalyn Bell Fowler, Tristain Fowler; step great grandchildren, Christian Bennett, Christopher Bomboy, Esther Ekpo; step great great grandchildren, Hannah Bennett, Rebecca Bennett; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members. .
