Marcia was born July 5, 1957, in Durant, Okla., to J.W. Sampson and Ellen Stanley Sampson. Marcia completed her education at Coleman High School and spent her entire childhood in the Coleman community. Marcia Joy Nunley lost her lengthy battle with cancer though she has won the war as she now resides with her Father in heaven. She kept her priorities in the proper order: God, family, and being a doctor. She was always an overachiever, graduating as valedictorian of her senior class and graduating with honors from college at SOSU and OU Medical School. Upon graduation from medical school, she went on to fulfill her lifelong dream and became a pediatrician, using her gift of love and healing to change countless lives. Aside from her faith, her husband and three sons were the center of her world and the love she held in her heart for them was seen by all. She never let cancer slow her down and continued to work and travel the world even after enduring chemotherapy and radiation. She loved to share the word of God and affected many lives with her powerful faith, grace and strong daily prayer life. She loved to bake, garden, read, and feed and watch the birds around her home. She will be greatly missed by all who had the honor to know and love her in her short time on this earth. Her family finds assurance knowing that she has perfect peace and healing in the arms of her Savior. She was preceded in death by her brother, Todd Sampson; father-in-law, Loftus Nunley; and both sets of grandparents. Survivors: She is survived by her husband, Steve; sons, Ryan, Jay and Tyler of Cleburne; her parents, J.W. and Ellen Sampson of Kenefic, Okla.; mother-in-law, Lois Nunley of Denison; brother, Bub and Regina Sampson of Kenefic, Okla.; sister, Rhonda and Dennis Stephens of Coleman, Okla.; brother-in-law, Nathan and Karla Nunley of Denison; 10 nieces and nephews; and numerous other relatives.
