Marie Decordova Spurlin

Marie deCordova Spurlin, 96, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 18, 2013. Graveside Service: 11:00 AM, December 21, 2013. Interment: Kopperl Cemetery in Kopperl. Visitation: 5-7 PM, Friday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home. Memorials: Kopperl Cemetery Association, P. O. Box 133 Kopperl, Texas 76652. Marie was born January 10, 1917 in Kopperl. She married Doyle Spurlin July 30, 1935 in Cleburne. She was a homemaker raising her family of four boys. She loved antiquing, going to garage sales and refinishing furniture. She and Doyle collected a large assortment of antique juicers and attended many State and National Exhibits to sell and buy more to increase their collection. The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of Community Hospice of Burleson for their kind and loving care. We cannot begin to express our gratitude to her caregivers and friends Carla Polk and Jarvis Polk. Their many acts of love and kindness enriched her life. Marie was preceded in death by her parents, husband Doyle in 2001, three brothers and two sons, Billy Jon Spurlin in 1936 and Thomas David Spurlin in 1997. Survivors: sons, Bobby D. Spurlin and wife Jo of Burleson; Ogden Spurlin and wife Virginia of Fort Worth; Edwin Spurlin and wife Carol of Yantis; 9 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild and extended family and friends.
