JOSHUA -- Marilyn Beth Sparks, 57, a volunteer for Huguley Hospital, passed from this life on Friday, Oct. 24, 2008, into the loving arms of her Heavenly Father afer a brief illness. Funeral: 10 a.m. Monday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home Chapel. Interment: Union Hill Cemetery. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Union Hill Presbyterian Church or Union Hill Cemetery Association. Marilyn was born June 6, 1951, in Cleburne to Billy Jack and Janie Miller Sparks. She was a caring and compassionate daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. Marilyn especially enjoyed family reunions, playing the slots, joking with her daddy and always having more fun than anyone else. The Sparks family lived, worked, attended Joshua schools and churches, played ball and made lifelong friendships of all ages in Joshua. Marilyn worked for Joshua ISD, Trinity Meadows Nursing Home, Lambert Oil Co. and most recently as a "Pink Lady" volunteer at Huguley Hospital. Marilyn was preceded in death by her father, Billy Jack Sparks; grandparents, Pruitt and Wilma Sparks, Silas and Mary Miller; great-nephew, Lanny J. Ice. Survivors: Loving mother, Janie Sparks of Joshua; dear brothers, Levi Sparks and wife, Linda, of Mesquite, Dennis Sparks and wife, Brenda, of Rainbow; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends; very special friend, John Henry of Joshua.
