BURLESON -- Marion P. Gardner, 89, a retired inspector for General Motors, died Monday, Dec. 12, 2005, in Burleson. Funeral: 2 p.m. Thursday in Mountain Valley Funeral Home Chapel in Burleson. Burial: Laurel Land Memorial Park in Fort Worth. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home. Memorials: charity of choice. Marion Perdue Gardner was born Oct. 29, 1916, in Elmo, Kan., to George H. and Ethel O. Perdue Gardner. He married Dora Ann Grimes on May 19, 1945, in Weatherford. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II and retired from GM in 1981. He was a hamm radio operator and enjoyed fishing, watersports, and the Dallas Cowboys. Survivors: Wife of 60 years, Ann Gardner of Burleson; son, Leonard L. Gardner and wife, Ruthie, of Watauga; daughters, Carolyn Barker and husband, Allen, of Arlington, Kathy Cooper of Overland Park, Kan., and Peggy White and husband, Robert, of North Richland Hills; and grandchildren, Jason, Rachel, Aaron, Casey, Misha, Libby and Shelby.
