Marlene Shelley

Marlene Shelley, 78, of Burleson, Texas, went to see Jesus on September 1, 2021. She was born December 9, 1942, in Fort Worth, Texas to Lois and Marvin Forrest.

Marlene grew up and attended school in Cleburne, Texas, where she married Tom Shelley in 1961. They made their home in Burleson where she enjoyed being a homemaker, wife, mother, gramma and great gramma.

Her interest included being with her family she loved with all of her heart and the love of the Lord. She enjoyed playing games, arts and crafts with her family. She was a dedicated member of Opendoor Church in Burleson, Texas and a mighty prayer warrior for so many. Her family all knew that Psalm 91 was her favorite scripture and a powerful weapon she used against the enemy while praying over her family.

She is survived by her son Jon Shelley and his wife Darla of Joshua, Texas, her daughter Joy Beth Mankins and her husband Tim of Joshua, Texas. Her grandchildren, Robin Donovan and Tim Donovan, Jon Shelley, Brian Shelley and Brittany Shelley, Suzy Shelley, Shelby Knight and Isaac Knight, Jayson Mankins, great-grandchildren Addison, Cameron, Caleb and Scarlett.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her granddaughter Taylor Mankins and her great-granddaughter Katelyn Donovan and her brother Randall (Sonny) Forrest and her stepdad Bob Homan.

Graveside services will be September 7, 2021, 10:00 am at Bono Cemetery in Bono, Texas, lunch and fellowship celebration following at Opendoor Church in Burleson, Texas - 12:30 - 2:30 the Venue.
