Marvin Lawrence Cartwright, 86, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2018.
A celebration of life will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28, 2018, at First Baptist Church in Burleson. Visitation will be held 6-8 pm Thursday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home, 3407 S.W. Wilshire Blvd., Joshua, Texas.
Marvin was born Nov. 29, 1931, in Haynesville, Louisiana. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jimmie; son, Scott; five brothers; and four sisters.
He is survived by his daughter, Lynn Basden; grandchildren Daniel and wife, Amber, Kyle, Simon and Alex Basden, Lyndi Hastings and husband Murrel, Jacob and wife, Vanessa Cartwright, Amy and husband, Casey Cheek; and great-grandchildren, Finley, Brody and Keaton Basden, Lucas Cartwright and Samantha Cheek.
He served our nation in the U.S. Navy, built for others as a bricklayer and contractor, but his life was defined as a Man of God, always a witness for the Lord and a helper to others.
