Mary Jean Yates Neill passed away on August 23, 2013. Memorial Service: 2:00 PM, Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at First Baptist of Burleson. Internment: Private Ceremony at Burleson Memorial Park. No visitation scheduled. Mary was born in Stamford, Texas to Delta and Eugene Yates on April 29, 1925. She married Glenn Neill, whom she met while attending Hardin Simmons University, in 1944. Mary taught school for 25 years; 17 of which were in Burleson. She was a lifetime member of the Texas State Teacher's Association, a member of the Burleson Area Retired School Employees Association and TRTA. Mary was a member of First Baptist Church of Burleson where she taught Sunday school for many years. She was also active in the Burleson Eumathian Club, Garden Club and Johnson County Republican Women. In lieu of flowers donations to be made to First Baptist Church of Burleson Promises House or C.A.S.A. of Johnson County. Mary is survived by three sons: Dr. Max Neill and wife Cherry, Dr. Richard Neill and wife Christi, Judge John Neill and wife, Kathy; Brother: Richard Yates and wife Virginia; nine grandchildren, one great-grandson and many others who loved her dearly
