Mary Katherine (Miller) Underwood

Mary Kay Underwood was born in Nashville, Tennessee on November 18, 1933 to Frank and Virgie Miller, and passed away in Burleson, Texas on January 16, 2021.

She and her family moved to Texas when she was 13. While attending Carter Riverside High School, she met and married J. W. (Buster) Underwood. They were married on March 2, 1951 until his death in 2008.

Mary Kay was a member of First Baptist Church of Burleson.  She was well known in Crowley for babysitting. Her many interests included sewing, crocheting, quilting, gardening, fishing, traveling, camping, and baking. Sunday homemade lunch after church was a tradition. She loved having family together.

She is survived by four daughters, Ginger Allen (Jerry), Kathy Fuller, Loretta Jimenez (Edward), all of Burleson and Janie Smith (Weldon) of Chico, her brothers Paul Miller and Larry Miller, her sister Peggy Reid. She had 8 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Earl and Jimmy Miller, and son-in-law, Ray Fuller.
