Melinda A. Rodriguez Powell, 37, of Godley passed away Thursday, Feb. 26, 2015, in Cleburne. Service: 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 390 SE John Jones Drive, Burleson. Interment: Laurel Land Memorial Park, Fort Worth. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home, Joshua. Melinda was born Oct. 17, 1977, in Fort Worth to Robert Sr. and Mary E. Lopez Rodriguez. Melinda was a loving mother, wife, daughter, sister and friend. She was adored by all, teachers and staff alike, at Godley Elementary School where she was a teacher. Melinda had recently received her associate degree, and was pursuing a bachelor's degree in education. She loved gardening, fishing and other outdoor activities. She was preceded in death by her grandparents and brother, Juan Miguel Rodriguez. Survivors: Parents, Robert Rodriguez Sr. and Mary E. Rodriguez; husband, Brian Powell; sons, Gage Powell and Shawn Landin; daughters, Kayla Landin, Addisyn Powell; sisters, Dolores Solis and husband, Javier, Elizabeth Rodriguez and husband, Kris Rodgers; brothers, Robert Rodriguez Jr. and wife, Norma, Miguel Rodriguez and wife, Ashley, Joseph Rodriguez and wife, Mindy; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, extended family and friends.
