Merle E. Shaw, 80 of Joshua, a retired Vocational Shop Teacher for Corpus Christi ISD for 27 years, died Tuesday Jan. 3, 2012 at his home in Joshua. Memorial Service: 11 a.m. Saturday at First Church of the Nazarene in Crowley. Merle Edward Shaw was born Dec. 10, 1931 in Larned, Kansas to A.J.M. and Anna C. Mueller Shaw. He married Shirley Stewart on July 15, 1965 in Blackwell, Oklahoma. He was a member of First Church of the Nazarene in Crowley. He enjoyed genealogy and loved southern gospel music. He was devoted to his God and family, and loved them dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant son, David Eugene Shaw. Survivors: Wife, Shirley Stewart Shaw; sons, Mark Shaw, Steven Shaw, Robin Dale Shaw and wife, Shelley, Tommy Shaw and wife, Andrea; daughters, Rhonda Thomas and husband, Bert, Valorie Shaw, Jackie Tate and husband, Gary; brother, George Shaw and wife, Arnette; 15 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren.
