Nelson D'Alton Coomer

Mr. Nelson D’alton Coomer (80) was surrounded by family as he passed away peacefully at home on August 12, 2020 in Joshua, Texas.

He was born in Painton, Missouri to Gus and Eleanor Coomer on the November 29 1939.

Nelson met the love of his life, Dorothy Buchheit, in 1973 and the two of them shared 46 years of happiness with their family of 8 children. In 1981 Nelson moved the family to Texas and resided in the North Texas area for the last 39 years.  He was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Burleson, Texas.

Some of Nelson’s hobbies include fishing and watching baseball - particularly the Texas Rangers. He always liked tinkering with anything he could get his hands on, especially if it was to fix something for his wife and kids. His love was his wife, kids, grandkids and great-grandkids.

Preceded in death by his parents; one son, Neil Coomer; a sister and three brothers.

He is survived by his wife; sons, Sean McClard, Nathan Coomer (Traci) and Mathew Coomer (Tanya). Daughters, Monica Coomer Rushing, Clara Sanchez (Carlos), Rhonda Robinson (Josh), Beth Maurin Trace) and Kaye Wert (Bobby), 11 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren a brother, Verl Coomer, and many friends.

Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Texas Kidney Foundation.
