Nona Mae (Robinson) Trammell

December 23, 1930 — December 10, 2023

Nona Mae Robinson Trammell was born in Springtown, Texas on December 23, 1930 to George Mason Robinson and Jessie Burl Rector. She passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 10, 2023 and will celebrate her 93rd birthday this year with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Chirst. In heaven, she fell into the arms of the love of her life, J.T. Trammell, who had been patiently ”waiting on a woman” for nearly 20 years.

She met James Thomas Trammell (J.T.) in Weatherford, Texas. They fell in love, married on March 8, 1950 and moved to Joshua, Texas. Nona and J.T. built a strong family legacy raising four boys, Lanny, David, Scott and Raymond. Nona was a devoted homemaker and worked tirelessly cooking delicious meals, mending the boys' clothes, and shuttling them to and from their many sporting events. Nona served her community by delivering Meals on Wheels for many years. She also enjoyed serving in local elections as an Election Judge. She and J.T. lived a simple life and found joy in traveling in their RV and fishing with family. Nona’s pride and joy was her large, happy family. She raised four boys, was beloved by her 10 grandchildren and lived to hold and love on her numerous great grandchildren.

Nona was preceded in death by her husband, J.T. Trammell in January 2004. In addition those preceding her were her siblings, Merl Robinson Smith, J.B. Robinson, Lowell “Major” Robinson, Raymond Robinson, Margaret Robinson, and Burl Robinson; her oldest son Lanny Trammell; a grandaughter, Tonya Nicole Trammell and a great granddaughter Kailey Myers.

Nona is survived by three of her boys. They are David Trammell and wife Kay of Godley and their children Neil, Nolan and Narisa; Scott Trammell and wife Beverly of Joshua and their children Tammy and Timothy; Raymond Trammell and wife Kelly of Haskell, Oklahoma and son John and Lanny’s children Chad, Casey and Christy. In addition to numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews

Nona left a lasting tribute to her family in the way of written down memories, treasured heirlooms and libraries of pictures. Her wit and common sense will be missed. Her one liners will be passed from generation to generation. We will forever remember her each Spring when the wildflowers bloom, around a table of dominos and through visits from the hummingbirds each summer. Nona is dearly loved and will forever be missed. We love you more!

Nona loved flowers and they are welcome, but if you’d like to send a monetary donation instead, please make a donation in her honor to Johnson County Meals on Wheels.
