Olmer Goodwin Woodard

March 16, 1913 — June 16, 2010

Olmer Goodwin Woodard, 97, of Burleson, a homemaker, passed away peacefully at her home Wednesday, June 16, 2010. Funeral: 2:30 p.m. Saturday in Mountain Valley Funeral Home Chapel. Interment: George's Creek Cemetery, Somervell County. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home. Honorary pallbearers will be her great-great-grandsons, Beau and Luke Mask. Ms. Woodard was born March 16, 1913, in Hope, Ark., to Henry Arthur and Georgie Lee Meador Goodwin. She married Roy Lancaster Woodard on Dec. 26, 1932, in Granbury. Ms. Woodard helped organize Tower Baptist Church in 1950 in White Settlement and in 1976 moved to Cana Baptist Church, where she was a member. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy L. Woodard; two sons, Benny and Wayland Woodard; six brothers; and three sisters. Survivors: Son, Roy "Woody" Woodard and wife, Kathy, of Burleson; sister, Gracie Clampitt of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Tammy Mask and husband, Kim, of Aledo, Benny Woodard Jr. and wife, Ann, of Kennedale, Mellea McLaughlin and husband, James, of California, Mitch Woodard of Fort Worth, Wendy Canard and husband, Kenny, of Fort Worth, Rusty Woodard of Fort Worth, Holly Weber of Arlington, Scott Hamilton and wife, Becky, of Fort Worth and Misty Barnard and husband, Jason, of Fort Worth; 17 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
