JOSHUA -- Oscar Melendez, 61, of Joshua, a Machinist for Bell Helicopter died Tuesday Dec. 2, 2008 in Joshua. Funeral Service: 10 am Friday Dec. 5, 2008 at Mountain Valley Funeral Home Chapel. Interment: Caddo Cemetery. Visitation: 6-8 pm Thursday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home. Oscar was born Aug. 12, 1947 in Fort Hancock to Albino and Ignacia Galindo Melendez. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Oscar loved karaoke, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. Survivors: Wife, Celia Melendez of Joshua; children, Israel Melendez Sr. and wife Cynthia of Joshua, Raleigh Melendez of Joshua, Eva Deere; grandchildren, Marcus Melendez, Anabelle Melendez, Jessica Melendez, Mariah Melendez, Kassandra Melendez, Israel Melendez Jr.; brother, Ignacio Melendez of California; sister, Betty Reyna of Fort Worth.
