On Wednesday, May 27, 2020, Patricia “Pat” Helen Swinney, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away at the age of 79.
Pat was born on June 8, 1940 in Mt. Ephraim, New Jersey to John and Eleanor Heise. Pat worked in the banking business before retiring more than two decades ago. Pat raised two sons, Greg and Ryan.
Pat moved to Texas in 1984 where she met William Swinney. The two married in April of 1986.
Pat enjoyed gardening, flowers, Christmas, and cooking. She was an avid floral enthusiast, often building arrangements for friends’ and family’s weddings, funerals, and for her church. When she was not crafting floral arrangements, she could be found in the vegetable and flower gardens. When the garden season ended, Pat immediately shifted into Christmas season. Pat was known for her love of the Christmas holiday. She loved building her Christmas tree, where she proudly displayed her collection of several thousand Christmas ornaments. The only thing that mirrored the collection of ornaments was the gifts that could be found around the tree. Pat was known for going to extremes around Christmas! When she wasn’t gardening or preparing for Christmas, she could be found in the kitchen crafting her many ‘secret recipe’ homemade Italian dishes.
Pat was proceeded in death by her parents, John and Eleanor and by her stepdaughter, Debby. She is survived by her husband, William, her two sons, Greg and Ryan, her two daughter-in-law’s, Maria and Debbie, her son-in-law, Roy, her five grandchildren, Royce, Rebeka, Holly, Danielle, and Cherie, and numerous great-grandchildren.
