Paul Basaldu Sr.

June 29, 1930 — June 28, 2018

Paul Basaldu Sr., 87, of Fort Worth, passed away June 28, 2018. Preceded in death by his father, Mateo Basaldu; mother, Simona Martinez Galindo; step-father, Justo Galindo; son, Samuel Basaldu; great-granddaughter, McKynli Miller. Paul was born June 29, 1930, in San Antonio to Mateo Basaldu & Simona Martinez. He was raised by Justo & Simona Martinez Galindo. Paul was the male valedictorian of the class of 1950. He was an Air Force veteran. Paul received four medals; National Defense Service Medal, United Nation Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, and also the Good Conduct Medal. Paul received his BA degree from TCU, and went on to work teaching in Uvalde, Texas. He was offered a scholarship at Rice University. Which Paul accepted and earned his Master's. He had then went on to work for Kennedale ISD, there he began a long successful career as an educator and coach. Survivors: son, Paul Basaldu Jr. and wife, Gayle; daughters, Linda Basaldu, Lisa Basaldu-Ramos and husband Robert; grandchildren, Natali Basaldu-Salem, Samantha Miller, Kimberly Basaldu-Panfil and husband Nick, Amanda Miller-Nivens and husband Mickey, Ray Miller Jr. and wife Felecia, Simona Basaldu, Randall Miller, Andrew Basaldu, and Savannah Ramos; great-grandchildren, Abigail, Trent, Jaydan, Harper, Colton, Dylen, Conner, Ally, Ray III, and Serenity; sister, Mary Santos Soto.
