BURLESON -- Paul Edward Nolen, 79, of Burleson, a retired assistant manager with 35 years of dedicated service to Safeway, died Thursday, May 7, 2009, in Fort Worth. Memorial service: 2 p.m. Monday at The Church at Burleson. Paul was born Sept. 3, 1929, in Tulia to Clifford and Maggie Griggs Nolen. Memorials: In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Paul was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He married Lynda McGill on April 7, 1975, in Weatherford. Paul played semi-pro basketball in earlier years. Paul loved and was a big fan of the Texas Tech Red Raiders. He also loved golf, working in the yard and coaching Little League. Survivors: Wife, Lynda Nolen of Burleson; daughters, Kim Briganti and husband, Tony, of Fort Worth, Alana Nolen of Burleson; stepson, Billy Johnson and wife, Dianne, of Huntsville, Ala.; stepdaughter, Kristy McLain and husband, Darrell, of Covington; sister, Mary Turner and husband, Harry, of Fort Worth; brother, Ernest Nolen of Graham, N.C.; grandchildren, Leigh Blevins, Brandon, Katy and Joel McLain, Anthony, Michael, Nicole and Alecia Briganti; great-grandchildren, Lindsay, Taylor Blevins; and numerous nieces and nephews
