Paula Patricia (Mercer) Hood

Services for Paula Patricia (Patty) Hood, 88 of Burleson will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Friday December 27, 2024 at Burleson Church of Christ. The Reverend Karl Jones will officiate.
Paula Patricia (Patty/Mammy) Hood was born in Fort Worth, Texas on July 21, 1936. Patty grew up in Burleson Texas and resided there her whole life except for a time where she lived in Shallow Water.
Patty went to school in Burleson where she loved being a cheerleader and playing basketball earning All District honors
She married Allen Hood in Burleson in 1954 and they had 2 children Paula and Gary. She worked for both General Dynamic and Motorola, retiring in 1998. Her favorite pastimes were friends and family, gardening, bird watching, avid reader, ladies bible class (when Pastor Karl taught the lesson) and traveling. In traveling, enjoyed cruise trips to Alaska and took many a trip with her sister Melanie along with her children and her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her mother Faye and father Roy Silas Mercer Sr., brother Roy Mercer Jr. and sister Melanie DeWitt.
She is survived by her two children. Daughter Paula Pool and son Gary Hood and his wife Eva plus six grandchildren James Darnell, Carlie Chron and husband Nathan, Brandon Pool, Stuart Hood, Kristie Hood and Ashton Moon.
