Burleson - Peggy Ballinger, 83, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013, at a local hospital following a brief illness. Service: 2 p.m. Friday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home. Interment: 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, in DFW National Cemetery, Dallas. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Peggy was born July 24, 1929, in Sweetwater and was retired from the London House Restaurant. She was a devoted family woman and adored by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A joyful presence, she will be fondly remembered by family, friends and many acquaintances. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Avis Ballinger, in 2011; parents, GL and Metta Bonner; and sister, LaNelle Eubank. Survivors: Her children and their spouses, Gail Crawford and husband, Johnny, of Burleson and James David Ballinger and wife, Mary Lou, of San Saba; grandchildren, Micah Yingst and husband, Mark, of Burleson, U.S. Army 1st Sgt. Jason Ballinger (Afghanistan) and wife, Kim, of Savannah, Ga., Leah Chapman-Hubbard and husband, Kelby, of Granbury, AJ Davis IV of Glen Rose, Jaime Brown and husband, David, of Burleson, Mark Crawford and wife, Teena, of Glen Rose, and Adam Crawford and Braxton Hall of Burleson; great-grandchildren, Jake and Troy Yingst, Preston and Ethan Chapman, U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Devin Hubbard (Japan) and Kasey Hubbard, Kandice Hubbard-Glass, Christopher and Jack Brown, Bree and Trevor Crawford, Kayleigh Watson-Hart and Taten Swanson; sisters, Voncille Purvis and Betty James; and a host of nieces and nephews.
