Peggy Ellen Fields, 70, of Joshua Tx passed away peacefully at her home May 15, 2021. She was born November 26, 1950 in Dallas Tx to Max and Joella Mims. She married the love of her life, Gordon Fields in February of 1974. They moved to the Joshua area where they ran several automotive businesses and started their family. Gordon preceded her in death in 2002.
Peggy is survived by her mother, Joella Sealey two children; Griffin Fields and wife Kelly, and Scott Fields, several grandchildren; Kaden, Kyler, Gracyn Fields and Jenny Fields and great-grandson, Max Fields; brother, Alan Mims and wife Stephanie, and sister Sue Warren, as well as several nieces and nephews, extended family and many good friends. All of these she loved and touched deeply.
Peggy or Maggie, as many knew her, was an amazing cook, a great storyteller (especially when it came to adventures with Gordon), had the best laugh and was a friend to all. She loved to love on people, seldom meeting a stranger. She opened her heart, her home, and her poolside "cantina" to anyone who needed a refuge, a spot to unwind, or a place to celebrate. She loved spending time with her friends whether it was a trip to the beach or lounging by the pool.
She devoted her life to her family and loved her boys beyond measure. For many years Peggy worked along side Gordon in their family business while raising their children. When she retired, she was able to pour herself into art, her favorite being recycling old furniture. She was also gifted with a paint brush and used color to breathe life into the mundane. Her hands were rarely still and her creative talents were on display throughout her home and her backyard. Her favorite project was her backyard oasis, a palette that she kept beautiful throughout the year.
Visitation will be held Thursday May 20th from 6 to 8 p.m. A celebration of life will be May 21st at 1 p.m., both at the Mountain Valley Funeral Home in Joshua Tx.
In lieu of sending flowers, please make donations to arfhouse.org, a canine rescue cause Peggy was very passionate about.
