Peggy O’Linda Corbitt - Green, 76, of Burleson, TX passed away peaceably, Saturday, January 8, 2022.
She was born June 14, 1945, to Mildred (Stegall) and Bert Arthur Corbitt. Peggy graduated from Arlington Heights High School and nursing school to become a dedicated LVN working at Walls and All Saints Hospital. Peg married Joe Green December 30, 1966. She was a long-time member of Eastern Star, Johnson County Quilt Guild, secretary and volunteer helping to maintain historic community cemeteries, Marystown, Prairie Springs and Bethesda.
Peggy had a passion for family history, researching her family tree, collaging family photos, and telling stories from pioneer days to current day keeping colorful memories preserved.
She and her fellow quilters collaborated with community firefighters and law enforcement to provide handmaid quilts to displaced children in need.
Peg and Joe fostered several children giving love and stability.
Peggy authored a book “God Didn’t Forget Me I’m Still Standing”. Peg was an avid gardener and every year her and Joe’s place, “Green’s Roost”, was a showplace of variety and color with flowers, trees, birds, handmaid yard art with a bountiful harvest of pecans and vegetables.
“Green’s Roost” hosted many spring family and friend gatherings.
We treasure those memories, hand sewn treasures, pecan and apple pies, volleyball games, Wahoo tournaments, family fun and laughter at the Green homestead. Our hearts are heavy with her loss.
“The stars are an opening to heaven and their light is the love of people living in heaven shining down on us.”
