BURLESON -- Phillip Carl Szurgot, 59, of Burleson, a retired surveyor, died Monday, March 2, 2009, in Burleson. Funeral: 2 p.m. Wednesday in Mountain Valley Funeral Home Chapel. Interment: Burleson Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home. Phillip was born July 25, 1949, in Fort Worth to Benjamin B. and Maxine Steelman Szurgot. He loved his family, loved God, and was a great storyteller. His family loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his father and a daughter, Kelly Llamas. Survivors: Sons, Jason and Matthew Szurgot; daughters, Kari Davis and husband, Gary, Stephanie Tatum and husband, Brian; mother of his children, Sharon Szurgot; mother, Maxine Szurgot; brothers, Mike Szurgot and wife, Londa, Don Szurgot and wife, Cretia, Larry Szurgot and wife, Sue; sisters, Marsha Starkey, Pam Owen and husband, Dale; eight grandchildren; family friend, John Starkey; numerous nieces, nephews and other family; and many friends.
