R B Cox
September 9, 1937 — February 12, 2019
RB passed away Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2019 in Burleson. He was born Sept. 9, 1937 in Cleburne Texas to Tensley Eli Sr. and Mandy Fletcher Cox. He married Glenda Montgomery on June 15, 1956. Mr. Cox was a retired building contractor. He served in the US Army as a Sargent. He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church Joshua aka NorthPointe Church.
RB loved his family with all his heart! He enjoyed being with them and talking to them and was so happy and proud of each one. To say that he was a Master Carpenter is an understatement. His passion to build and create were evident to all. Working with his dad, brothers, sons, nephews and friends through the years building strong and beautiful buildings, including over forty churches was his great joy and love. R B was a man of integrity and full of faith in God, his word was his bond. He was a kind man always loving, generous and just fun to be with. He will be dearly missed!
Survivors include his wife of 62 years Glenda, his sons Brent Cox and wife Marie of Tennessee; Mark Cox and wife Susan of Burleson; daughter Christie Cox of Hurst. Grandchildren Camille Cox and fiancé Jeff Strayhorn; Sydney Ferguson and husband Nathan; Tyler Cox, and wife Ashlyn and great grandson Parker. Brother Jim Cox and wife Connie of Kemp.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Clyde; Roy; Henry; Howard; T. E. and sisters, Lura Brand and Dorothy "Dot" Smith.
