RJ Knox, 95, of Burleson passed away Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2014, in Fort Worth. Service: 10 a.m. Monday at Burleson Church of Christ. Interment: Laurel Land Memorial Park. Visitation: 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home. RJ was born May 22, 1919, in Weatherford to Jesse L. Knox and Pearl Porter Knox. He was strong in his faith and was a longtime member of Burleson Church of Christ. RJ loved spending time with his family. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II in which he received the Purple Heart. RJ loved gardening and sports in general, especially the Rangers, Mavericks and Cowboys. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Beulah Knox; and all his brothers and sisters. Survivors: Son, Mike Knox and wife, Jan, of Arlington; daughter, Jacque Carroll and husband, Jim, of Burleson; grandchildren, Denver Knox and wife, Kelly, of Mansfield, Kelsey Dwyer and husband, Brodie, of Arlington, Ashley Winebrenner and husband, Dan, of Burleson, Allison Carriger and husband, Brian, of Burleson; great-grandchildren, Avery and Bowen Knox, Keira and Knox Dwyer, Amelia Carriger; and extended family and friends.
