Ray Miller, 77 of Joshua, passed away July 8, 2015 in Fort Worth. A private memorial will be held at a later date. Ray was born September 30, 1937 to Louise and Jess Miller. He was preceded in death by his mother, father and one brother. Ray was a good story teller.... He was known to show up at any time in the Ft worth area in his younger days, and in Joshua and Burleson most recently to talk and tell his stories...Most of them you had heard before, but they were always entertaining and funny. He was a hard worker, and worked all of this life in excavation. Most recently spent his days working hard to manicure his lawn, and always said he had the best looking lawn in the neighborhood. Ray's other passions were going to his Farm and fishing in Port Aransas with friends and family. He loved his dog Lexie and would play with her for hours every day. Ray proudly served his country in the U.S Army. Ray, also known as Papu by many.....was honest, funny, and had a very generous heart. He will be missed by many. He loved his family more than anything in the world and would have done anything for them. We will all miss his daily phones calls and surprise visits. Survivors: He is survived by his wife Betty Jean Miller of Joshua, daughter Lisa Lynn Lackey of Joshua, Granddaughter, Lauren Lea Lackey of Ft. Worth, Grandson Tyler Lee Lackey and wife Amanda of Ft. Worth, brother Mick Miller of Ft. Worth, along with other family members.
