Richard Glenn Land

April 5, 1956 — May 21, 2023

Burleson

Richard Glenn Land was born April 5, 1956 in Fort Worth, TX  and passed away in Burleson, TX on May 21, 2023. He was a graduate of O.D. Wyatt High School, attended Texas Tech State University, and graduated from North Texas State University.

Richard began Cutco Metal Sawing with his business partner, Don Baker, in 1987. When Don retired, he moved the business to his property so he could walk to work each day. He was so proud to have both his sons in the business with him, and to have Jose Pimentel work in the business full time for 35 years. He never wanted to retire, and he was still working when he became ill.

Richard enjoyed camping with lots of family and friends for years. He especially enjoyed the National Forest in Cloudcroft, New Mexico. He spent time checking items off his bucket list: New York September 11 Memorial (he didn't care for the rest of New York), Boston, Washington DC, South Carolina, the California coast, Alaska, Hawaii, and Sequoia National Park.

Richard loved his wife, sons, and grandchildren intensely. He never wanted his sons or his grandchildren to move off the family land because he wanted to see all his family every single day. This was the one thing he did not like about travel- missing the family that was not able to travel with him.

Richard enjoyed feeding people. Campouts, family reunions, church dinners, 39ers, and family. He was a friend to all. Once you met him, you were part of his extended family. He was always ready to help anyone in any way he could.

Richard is survived by his wife, Brenda, his sons Cory and Jody (Aubree), his grandchildren Grant, Leighton, and Zaeliegh Land, his brothers Larry (Helen) and Gary (Cylinda) Land, his mother-in-law Doris McCollum, his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Cindy and Bobby Baker, and numerous neices, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Fred and Virgie Louise Land, and his sister Darlene Land Pettis.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to one of Richard's favorite charities or a charity of your choice: Hope Farm, Crazy 8 Ministries, Churches of Christ Disaster Relief or consider perennial shade plants.

Richard will be missed by everyone until we are together again in heaven.
