Richard Lee Smith, 70 of Carbon, a retired truck driver and farmer, died Tuesday May 11, 2010 in Waco. Funeral: 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Mountain Valley Funeral Home Chapel in Joshua. Interment: Caddo Cemetery, Joshua. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Friday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home. Richard Lee Smith was born Nov. 10, 1939 in Joshua to Denver Lee and Willie Mae Robinson. He married Karen Ann on May 27, 1975 in Oklahoma. He was a member of Carbon Christ Center in Carbon. Richard enjoyed his cows, going to church, and loved his wife and family. Most of all he loved serving the Lord. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Elizabeth Ann Smith; and a daughter, Shawna. Survivors: Wife, Karen Smith of Carbon; sons, John H. Smith of Joshua, Denver L. Smith of Burleson, Joe B. Smith of Joshua; daughter, Kristi K. Smith of Mississippi; stepson, Terry L. Harmon Jr. of Tennessee; sisters, Barbara Ann Taylor of Burleson, Willie Marie Steel and husband, David of Talihina, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Jennifer, Lee, Chase, Kara (What's her name); great granddaughter, Brenna; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
