JOSHUA -- Richard M. Ward, 67, a diesel mechanic, died Saturday May 24, 2008 in Cleburne. Service: 2PM Wednesday May 28, 2008 at Mountain Valley Funeral Home Chapel. Interment: Laurel Land Memorial Park- Fort Worth. Visitation: 6-8 PM Tuesday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home. Richard was born January 6, 1941 in Paris to Jack and Martha Mitchell Ward. Richard was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Richard married Mary New on May 30, 1962 in Fort Worth. He loved to fish, work on trucks and visiting with friends and family whether at home or at his shop. He also liked eating at out of the way restaurants. Richard was preceded in death by his father, and stepmother, Doris Ward. Survivors: Wife, Mary Ward of Joshua; son, Jack Ward and wife Carol of Tyler; daughters, Teresa Junge of Cleburne, Kim Mathis and husband Ken of Joshua, Kristi Taylor and husband Johnny of Cleburne; mother, Martha Mitchell; brothers, Weldon Ward and wife Carolyn of Dallas, Curtis Wood of Fort Worth; sister, LaVerne Stewart and husband Bob of Las Vegas, NV.; 10 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild on the way; numerous nieces and nephews extended family and friends.
