R. L. Mcelroy, Jr.

RL McElroy Jr was born in Alvarado Tx January 3, 1948 at home to Walterine McElroy and RL McElroy Sr. RL went home to be with our Lord and Savior peacefully Wednesday afternoon on October 16, 2024. RL was surrounded by his children, family and friends.
RL McElroy joined the United States Marine Corp right after high school where he fought in the Vietnam war. RL was a very proud man.
RL was preceded in death by his wife Idalena McElroy his parents Walterine Brand and RL McElroy Sr, sister Stella (Beth) Smith, brothers Larry Burdette and Eddie Brand.
RL McElroy Jr is survived by his children Rickey McElroy of Briar Tx, Beverly and Allan Birmingham of Briar Tx, Richard McElroy and spouse Rayna McElroy of Azle Texas, sister Cindy Birmingham and spouse Gary Birmingham of Haltom City Tx, Beverly Honeysuckle of Fort Worth Tx, Willette Reed and spouse Ed Reed of North Richland Hills Tx and brother Terry Brand and spouse Alma Brand of Fort Worth Tx. RL has 11 Grandchildren and 8 Great grandchildren plus numerous nieces and nephews
RL and his contagious laugh will always be with us. Just look up and tell him how you are feeling, and he will always be there to listen
