Robby Ray Allen, was born at home on April 8, 1928, the last of five children. He grew up on a farm northwest of Joshua. On February 26, 1955, he married Modeana Miller. Their marriage produced 3 children: Ricky, Steve & David.
Robby spent his entire adult life working in the telecommunications business. In 1983, after 35 years of service, he retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Co., where he held the position of Engineer. In 1978 he co-founded Alenco Communications, Inc. along with Modeana, Ricky and Debra.
He served in the US Army and was Honorably Discharged on October 4th, 1956. Through hard work, he was able to put himself through college and graduated from TCU with a Bachelor of Science in Commerce degree on June 1, 1960 - all while working full-time to support his growing family.
He was active in the community, serving on the Joshua city council from 1960 to 1990. In addition, he also served as Scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 221 of Joshua. Under his leadership, the troop produced 10 Eagle Scouts.
He passed away on November 29, 2021.
He is survived by Ricky Allen, Maghen Garrett and her son Kevin Waldrop. Debra Greene Allen, and children Nathan and Yuki Allen, along with their children Raphael and Lawrence: Matt Stein and Ann Allen, and son Callum. Steve and Rebecca Allen and children Whitney, Isabella and Reagan. David and Angeles Allen and children Cristel, April, Amanda and Robby, II.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 53 years. Also, parents Giles Nathan and Mary Susan. Brother’s Cullen, Milton and William, Sr., sister Hazel Greene and their spouses. Also, grandsons Christopher and Joseph Allen.
Interment will be at the Caddo Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to one of Robby’s favorite charities - Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital. www.stjude.org
