Robert James Gain

Robert James Gain, 82, founder and pastor of Word Of Life Church in Vernon, died Saturday, June 30, 2007, in Fort Worth. Funeral: 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Lighthouse Church in Burleson, 301 S. Dobson. Burial: Laurel Land Memorial Park in Fort Worth. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home. Mr. Gain was born May 16, 1925. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during WW II. He was preceded in death by his wife of 25 years, Ella Mae; and his wife of 27 years, Erma Dean, co-founder of Word of Life Church in Vernon. Survivors: Sons, Herbert Gain, David Gain, John Gain, Robert Gain, Charles Pierce, Ray Pierce and Howard Pierce; daughters, Beverly Gain Gregg, Deborah Gain Howie and Janice Pierce Sullivan; 25 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and his sweetheart, Louise.
