Robert Wayne Smith, 77, of Burleson, TX, passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2019. Robert was born July 6, 1941 in Cleburne, TX to O.C. and Odell Smith.

Robert grew up in Joshua but spent the majority of his life in Burleson. Robert was honest, selfless, supportive, caring, and worked hard to support his family. He took pride in coaching both his girls in softball and was an avid supporter of all Burleson athletics. In addition to being a devoted and kind father, he was a proud grandfather who fully supported each grandchild in their interests. He loved to travel to volleyball games, attend theater performances and baseball games, was proud to see his oldest grandson become a Marine, and make snow cones for his youngest grandson. Robert was honored to have served in the Air Force and was a Vietnam Veteran.

Preceded in death by his parents and sister, Dell Herndon.

Robert is survived by his wife of 51 years, Carolyn Smith; daughters Deana Gensemer and husband Barry; Jillian Kimball and husband Ryan; grandchildren Jessica Clutts and husband Daniel, Kevin Zabojnik and wife Kathrine, Kylie Kimball, Cooper Kimball, and a great granddaughter who is due in July. He is also survived by Arthur Lee Smith (brother) of Cleburne, Kathryn Bonham (sister) of Wills Point as well as several nieces and nephews who will miss him greatly.
