Robert Aubrey Wolfe

January 24, 1924 — January 16, 2022

Burleson

“Gramps,” beloved Dad, Grandfather, and Great-Grandfather, went to be with Jesus on Sunday, January 16, just eight days before his 98th birthday.

Bob was born and raised in Pomeroy, Ohio, where he met and would eventually marry his sweetheart, Freda Marie Parker. After the bombing of Pearl Harbor, Bob volunteered for the United States Navy, serving as a pharmacist’s mate on the USS Casa Grande. As was typical of many couples during WWII, Bob and Freda were married during a 3-day leave. When they parted, Bob assumed the Casa Grande would eventually enter many major sea battles—one of those would include the invasion of Okinawa—and only their deep faith in Christ would give them hope that they’d see each other again.

Bob did indeed return to Freda, and they moved to Columbus, Ohio, where he completed a B.S. in chemistry and a pharmaceutical degree at The Ohio State University. Two “loyal Buckeyes from birth” followed: Robert “Bob,” and Carolyn.

After working as a pharmacist for a short time, Bob became a sales representative for Roche Drugs, where his territory would eventually entail covering the OSU Hospital. He continued working for Roche for a few years after their move to St. Petersburg, Florida, but he eventually retired to spend decades of time thoroughly enjoying family; boating; golf; driving their 1966 Ford 7 Litre convertible around town and a motorhome across the county; cheering for his beloved Ohio State Buckeyes; and dedicated commitment and service to several churches. Bob and Freda eventually moved to Ocala, Florida, where they lived for several years before moving to Burleson, Texas, to be near family.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Freda, and his grandson, Robert Craig Williford. Besides his son Bob (daughter-in-law, Sharon) and daughter, Carolyn (son-in-law, Craig), “Gramps/Grandpa” will be dearly missed by his grandchildren Scott (wife, Sara), Michael (wife, Tiffany), Jay (wife, Rachael), and Julie (husband, Landon); and great-grandchildren Ethan, Brooke, Ashtyn, Payton, Tucker, Abby, Tyler, Aubrey, Nathan, Laura, and Charlotte.

Bob and Freda would have told any and all that their most treasured possessions were their Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and their beloved family.
