Roger James Mark Woods was born April 3, 1945 in Wisbech, England, United Kingdom. He passed away Friday, January 8, 2021 from COVID.
Roger was preceded in death by parents Dewey and Mary Ann Woods, brothers Dewey and Bennie Woods, and daughter Joyce Woods.
He retired as a Major from the Air Force where he earned a Bronze Star for heroic service in a combat zone. He went on to teach high school math, worked for the US Postal Service, and retired comfortably at age 54.
His interests included stamp collecting, coin collecting, photography and traveling. He was always up for an adventure which included travelling to numerous countries and all 50 states of the U.S. This included him finally getting to see all of the lower 48 and with his first grandson. He enjoyed time with his family, and each grandchild held a special bond with him.
Survived by children Thana Millar (and husband Pete Millar), Steve Sukhasame, Anna Maxcy (and husband Randy Maxcy), Julie Soder, and Stephen Gill (and wife Anna Burdette).
Survived by grandchildren Jason Adcock, Chloe Adcock, Travis Millar, Ivy Adair, Justice Sukhasame, Kelly Millar, Andrew Adair, Elliot Fanning, Avary Marsh, Waylon Gill, and Emerson Gill.
He was a smart, remarkable, kind father and grandfather and will be dearly missed.
