Romeo Quita Primero

March 15, 1936 — February 6, 2024

Romeo Quita Primero was born in Camiling Tarlac, Philippines on March 15, 1936 to Andres and Juana Primero. He grew up on the Primero family farm with his parents and six siblings including Alfredo, the twins Melquiades and Silvino, Mercedes, Paterno and Camilo.

Romeo attended grade school where he was privileged to learn, grow and play alongside friends and classmates. In 1951, he graduated from Northern Luzon Academy. Setting sights towards higher education, he attended college at Manila Central University where he graduated with a degree in Dentistry.

While in high school, he met the love of his life- Remedios Cabansag (Remy). Having the opportunity to attend college together, they both focused on their studies and always made time for each other. In 1962 after graduating college, Romeo and Remy married at the young age of 26. They chose to settle down in the Philippines and one year after marriage welcomed a bouncing, baby boy named Raymond. Two years later, their beautiful daughter Rocel was born. In 1966, they moved across the globe to America. After some initial struggles, they established a beautiful life in Rhode Island. Romeo established a thriving dentistry practice, and Remy was working with her psychiatry degree. In 1972, the family of four was surprised with an energetic baby boy, whom they named Roy (Marvin). He completed their family of five. In 1980, Romeo and Remy moved their family to Kansas where they lived, worked, and grew as a family for the next 18 years. Romeo kept busy serving his family, his community and his church. One of his favorite acts of service was cooking for his church congregation.

In 1998, Romeo and Remy retired and moved to Yucaipa, CA. After retirement, they enjoyed fellowship with their friends at the Yucapia Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Church. They would always have large groups of people over to their house for bible studies, fellowship, and of course, the best Filipino food. In April 2022, with some encouragement, they moved to Texas. Romeo and Remy enjoyed being close to family, especially their grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Romeo is remembered by family and friends as someone who always put others before himself. He was humble and dedicated. Romeo knew the value of a dollar. His favorite place was in the background cooking amazing food and ensuring everything was comfortable for everyone around him. He was an uncomplicated man, with the most generous heart. He always looked at life with a view of eternity, and continuously looked for opportunities to help others grow in their own relationship with God. With a servant heart, Romeo lived to serve others through his hard work, his dedication to his family, and his service to the SDA church.

Romeo was preceded in death by his parents, Andres and Juana Primero, his brothers Alfredo, Melquiades, Silvino, Paterno and sister Mercedes.

He is survived by his wife Remy and his three children and their families; Raymond (Cora) of Orofino, ID; Rocel (Jon) of Cleburne, Tx; and Roy Marvin (Jodi) of Burleson, TX

He leaves behind 5 grandchildren: Ashten (Trent), Chancellor, Alexa, Chloe
and Braden; and 2 great grandchildren: Aveline, Noel
