Ronald Lee Fisher

July 29, 1949 — January 2, 2017

Ronald "Ronnie"' L. Fisher, 67 passed away at home, comforted by his wife on January 2, 2017 after a short battle with lung cancer. Funeral: 10:00 am Saturday, January 7, 2017 in Mountain Valley Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at Caddo Peak Cemetery in Joshua. Dinner will be served at Reece Prairie Baptist Church following graveside service. Family visitation will be Thursday, January 5, 2017 from 6-8pm at Mountain Valley Funeral Home. Ronnie was born July 29, 1949 to James Edward and Frances O'Neal Fisher in Fort Worth. Ronnie was preceded in death by his father James Fisher and mother Frances Fisher. Ronnie is survived by his wife, Rebecca Bauman Fisher, brother, Glenn Edward Fisher, sons, Chester Fisher and wife Vicki, Todd Fisher and wife Kathy, daughters, Lyndsey Fisher, Jessica Fisher Nieman and husband Jerrod and bonus son, Shane Hubbard. Papa was his cherished name to his grandchildren, Amanda Briggs, Maegan Fisher, Taylor Alvey, Stuart Fisher, Meranda Fisher, Elijah Spann, Nathan Fisher, Silas Spann, Gracie Fisher, Sawyer Nieman, great-granddaughter Penni Sickels and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. Ronnie had a passion for life and adventure that was only exceeded by his love for family, and his compassion towards those friends he held dear. He considered the men of Allied Drilling as his adopted sons, and as the men that carried him through his best years as he was able to enjoy retirement. From a good rodeo, long car trip, to a good dinner at home with family he knew how to make the best of times out of the simplest of things. His big beard was only matched by his "Mountain of a Man" stature, and that is how we will remember him. Ronnie began his journey in construction some years ago. In 1984, he purchased Allied Drilling Company and began to cement his legacy that would provide not only for him, but his entire family and then some. He built a company and taught his employees that success is only rendered through honesty and integrity. Ronnie took pride in his work and cared greatly about his employees. He once said, "I may not be good at some stuff, but by God I can dig a hole!" Papa- the man, the myth and the legend
