They married a month later on Jan. 26, 1952. Travis worked in foreign service. Lidy and Travis lived to Guatemala, Vietnam, Thailand, Virginia and Costa Rica before they settled in Joshua. For all their travels, Lidy loved Texas. As part of their travels, Lidy was accepted into the world of diplomacy. She hosted and attended many parties and affairs for foreign dignitaries, kings and queens. She was a truly gifted hostess. She was the epitome of grace, elegance and beauty. She was charming, witty and vivacious. Lidy was a master seamstress who loved fashion, and always looked as if she had just walked off the cover of "Vogue Magazine." While living in Granbury, she started a successful interior design and custom drapery business. She loved to sew and was gifted at her craft. Her other hobbies include bowling (winning many trophies) and playing bridge. She was a member of the American Contract Bridge League and a life master. She was a devoted mother and her family was her life. Her grandchildren referred to her as "Nana." She was loved and respected by her grandchildren for her ability to bring fun, tell stories and give her wise advice. She loved them deeply and she taught all the granddaughters how to walk in high-heel shoes. The family wishes to thank the Emery J. Lilge Community Hospice House and Elva Ramirez for their care and compassion for Lidy. Special thanks are extended to friends Carol and Joe McDiarmid. Also, to Rhonda Jones and Karen Peirce for tending to her beauty needs. Lidy was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Lidy Rossi, and son, Damon King.
