Ruby Maudine Carlton

Ruby Carlton, 77, of Burleson, passed away Friday, July 13, 2018 in Ft. Worth. She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Donna Olson. Ruby was born September 13, 1940, in Nocona, Texas to Coleman E. and Flora L. (York) Powell. She grew up in River Oaks, Texas. Ruby met Bill Carlton while working at Frank Odell's Photography Studio in 1965. Bill and Ruby were married in December 1966. They loved going dancing, motorcycling and spending time with family and friends. For decades, Bill and Ruby were active members of the Cycle Club of Fort Worth and TMRA (Texas Motorcycle Roadriders Association). Together, Bill and Ruby had 3 children - Shirley, Bruce and Paul. Ruby was a homemaker dedicated to caring for her family. She always volunteered her time supporting her children's activities, especially PTA and Camp Fire. The family spent much of their time riding motorcycles and camping out. Ruby's love grew as her family expanded to include 7 grandchildren - Jessica, Jarrett, Kevin, Chandler, Hunter, Blake and Gracie. She then spent her time watching them pursue their passions. Ruby was an encouraging wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Survivors: husband, Bill Carlton, Jr.; daughter, Shirley Carlton Becker (David); sons, Bruce Carlton (Maria Kozielki), Paul Carlton (Pam); grandchildren, Jarrett and Blake Becker, Chandler and Gracie Carlton, Jessica Rose (Justin), Kevin and Hunter Carlton; sisters, Glenna Brown, and Teri Norwood; brother, Howard Powell; nephew, Danny Olson and many other nieces and nephews, as well as many loving extended friends and family.
