Russell Lynn Cacy

July 2, 1963 — September 19, 2023

Russell Lynn Cacy, age 60, Burleson, Texas, unexpectedly passed away at his home on September 19, 2023. Born in Phoenix, Arizonia on July 2, 1963, to Harding Cacy and Arlene (LaVaque) Cacy.
Russell lived in Malone, Texas till the age of 10, when he moved to St. Paul, Minnesota. Russell graduated from Johnson High School, St. Paul, Minnesota in 1981. Russell attended Texas State Technical College and 4-C Business College where he achieved certifications in Mechanical Drafting and Auto Body and Painting. Russell relocated back from Texas to Minnesota in 1997 where he worked for various Auto Body Centers as an Auto Body Technician and as Field Service Technician for Stringer Business Systems. In 2008, Russell began his "adventures" working for the Department of Veterans Affairs, holding positions at the Minneapolis VA Health Care System, the Doris Miller VA Medical Center Waco, Texas and the Dallas Consolidated Mail Outpatient Pharmacy.
Russell is survived by his "sunshine" his significant other Kimberly Hurt, his sons Cavin Cacy and Cory Cacy, his mother Arlene Cacy, his siblings Vivian Watson, Phillip Cacy, Claudia Cacy (Greg Schneller) and Michael Cacy (Catherine). His stepsons Andrew Hurt (Beth), Dereck Hurt (Sara), Kasey Hurt (Katie). The "little rug rats" Foster, Korbin, Bennett and Rowyn Hurt. He leaves numerous nieces and nephews, lifelong friends, and other extended family and one very special and lovable dog, Hayward.
Russell was preceded in death by his father Harding Cacy, his "little brother" David Cacy, and his brother-in-law Robert Watson.
Russell loved unconditionally and lived a life by his actions. He was a beloved partner, a devoted and loving dad, a selfless son, a giving brother, and one heck of an uncle. He was the most generous man - he was willing to help whoever and whenever asked. Russell had a wicked sense of humor, a quick wit, and would prefer not to think before speaking as he was just as surprised as everyone else by what came out of his mouth.
Russell had boundless energy and was not one to sit still, he loved the outdoors especially the cabin in Wisconsin. Russell had a passion for woodworking and created custom furniture: among the projects that gave him the greatest joy was the custom "Made in Russell's Garage" Nana BaNana toy boxes he created for Foster and Bennett, Korbin and Miss Ruby.
Whenever you were in the same room with Russell, he could always make you smile or laugh. His presence is going to be greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers please consider donating in Russell's name to the St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 4paws Rescue Group, or the Benbrook Animal Shelter.
