Russell Braden Massey was born in Dallas, Texas on June 29, 1973 to Thomas and Elaine Massey. He passed away suddenly Monday evening November 20, 2023 and was welcomed home by his God and Jesus, his Dad, his Nanny and Pawpaw (Annie Sue and Albert Harrison), and his Mawmaw (Effie Huckeba).
Rusty grew up in DeSoto, Texas with his parents and his brother, Michael. He graduated from DeSoto High School in 1991 where he played trombone for the DeSoto Eagle Marching Band.
He was the President of the family business Eagle Fire Extinguisher Company in Dallas, Texas, where he worked with his Mom and Dad. Rusty was a devoted father, a loving son, a giving brother, a funny uncle, and a loyal friend. He was completely devoted to his kids, refusing to miss any performance, game, or event. He was the most giving and selfless brother and would drop almost anything or re-arrange his schedule if he was ever needed. He was always cracking jokes and trying to make others laugh. His family and friends were so important to him and he wanted to be here to continue to support and help them, but God needed him more.
Rusty was preceded in death by his Dad, Thomas Massey.
He is survived by his daughter Ashlynn and son Joshua.
His Mom, Elaine.
His brother Michael and wife, Wendy, and nephew Michael.
Rusty and his unconditional love, his support, his funny jokes, and even his joy at irritating people will be missed.
