David Russell "Rusty" Best, 57, of Burleson passed away Friday, Jan. 31, 2014, in Fort Worth. Funeral: 10 a.m. Wednesday, Mountain Valley Funeral Home Chapel. Interment: Bonner Family Cemetery in Stuart's Mill. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, please allow donations in memory of Rusty, to the American Diabetes Association, N. Texas Chapter, 4100 Alpha Road, Dallas, Texas 75244. Rusty was born May 11, 1956, in Granbury to Jim and Katherine "Kitty" Bingham Best. He graduated Granbury High School, class of 1974, and went on to earn his B.S. in industrial arts education from Tarleton State University in 1978. Rusty taught school in Palestine from 1978-1981, and Everman 1981-1984, but spent most of his career working in lumber sales for Payless, then Henson's Lumber Yards. Rusty was a true family man, always involved in kids' school activities. He loved traveling, woodworking and carving, and fly tying. Survivors: Wife of 37 years, Rhonda Best; son, Brian Best and wife, Tami; daughter, Brenda Kubiak and husband, Clint; grandchildren, Blake, Callie, Brent, Henlea; mother, Kitty Best; brothers, Gary Best and wife, Kathy, and Charles Best and wife, Diane; four nieces; two nephews; and a host of other loving extended family and friends.
