Ruth Hazel Lambeth

FORT WORTH -- Ruth Hazel Lambeth, 88, a retired adult foster care owner, was called to heaven Thursday, Nov. 13, 2008. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home. Memorials: May be made in Ruth's memory to a hospice or Alzheimer's Association. Ruth was born May 30, 1920, in Kalamazoo, Mich., to Herbert R. and Catherine Decker Ackerman. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Ruth graduated from Royal Oak High School in Royal Oak, Mich. She married the love of her life, Joseph William Lambeth, on Jan. 1, 1941, in Ohio. They were married 56 years. Ruth was an avid reader and enjoyed playing cards, dancing and traveling. Her morning ritual was feeding her birds. She was predeceased by her husband in 1997; sisters, Helen and Margie; brothers, Donald, Robert and Claude Ackerman; granddaughter, Jodie Lee Maxwell. Survivors: Sons, Jody Lambeth, Douglas Lambeth; daughters, Linda McAdams, Nita Penney, Rita Stephenson, Lisa Perry, Lora Lambeth; brothers, Kenneth Ackerman, Russell Ackerman, Richard Ackerman, Herbert Ackerman; lifelong friend, Vera Gould.
