Sandy Kay Horton

May 27, 1951 — February 5, 2017

Sandy Kay Horton left this world for her eternal home to be with Jesus on February 5, 2017. She was born to Herbert and Juanita Milburn on May 27, 1951. She gave her heart to Jesus as a young girl at five years of age. She graduated Bethany High School as class valedictorian in 1969 and surrendered her life to be a Pastor's wife. . She attended business school, receiving a business certificate and worked as a secretary for Kerr McGee. She married Rev. Terry D. Horton on July 22, 1972 and served as a Pastor's wife until his retirement at FBC, Hallettsville, September, 2014. Sandy served as the director of Vacation Bible School, started TeamKids at FBC Hallettville, taught Sunday School as well as numerous Bible Studies, was WMU Director & served on the Gonzales Associational WMU Leadership Team who called her "Our Purple Angel". Sandy had a beautiful smile and a wonderful laugh. Sandy also served as FBC, Hallettsville's Director of Judgement House. The last three years saw her health decline, but her faith and trust in Jesus Christ never diminished. Sandy was a devoted Christian & member of Northpointe, FBC of Joshua, TX. Sandy is survived by her husband, Terry Horton, sons: David A. Horton; Andy Horton and wife, Priscilla from Montana; Josh Horton and wife, Chelsea from Austin. Sandy's delight were her granddaughters in Montana: Kaylee and Avery Horton. Sandy is also survived by her brother, Gary Milburn and wife Teresa with their daughter Christy, from Missouri; a niece, Amanda Small; a great nephew, Paxton Small, and a great niece, Paisley Small; a nephew, Nathan Milburn and a great nephew, Ridley Milburn, all of Oklahoma.. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Donald Milburn.
