Shirley Scott Gwin

Burleson - Shirley Scott Gwin, 74 of Burleson, a homemaker, died Thursday August 13, 2009 in Fort Worth. Graveside Service: 10:30 am Monday at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Grand Prairie. Visitation: 2-4 pm Sunday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home- Burleson, Tx. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the American Cancer Society. Shirley was born Nov. 3, 1934 in Coleman to Jessie Lee, Sr. and Clennie Mae Dunham Scott. She married John Hubert Gwin on Sept. 15, 1951 in Coleman. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Brownwood. She enjoyed playing the piano, loved her grandkids, and taking care of her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Jessie Lee Scott, Jr.; and a sister, Betty Scott. Survivors: Husband, John Hubert Gwin of Burleson; son, Michael Gwin and wife LaDara of Burleson; daughter, Johnnie Jolene Edwards and husband, Garry of Kyle; sisters, Geneva Bryan of Chino Valley Arizona, Rosalie Meeks of Brownwood; grandchildren, RaeAnne, Cailie, Hayden, Shawn, Holli, Stephen, and Christopher; and numerous extended family members.
