Shirley Lee Little was born in Crosbyton, Texas, at home on June 11, 1938. She went to be the Lord on Oct. 13, 2024.
Shirley grew up on a farm in West, Texas, with her parents and seven siblings: Ronald, Johnny, Tommy, James, Judy, Nicki and Karen.
From an early age Shirley learned honor, integrity, compassion, empathy and love for our Lord. She lived her life with these principles, always. Her love for family and people was immeasurable.
Shirley married the love of her life on May 27, 1956, and shared her life with him until his death.
They moved to Alvarado, Texas, in 1969, where they raised their family and shared their lives with family and many friends.
Shirley was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dean Little; her parents, Elmer and Era Maye Mitchell; her daughters, Lajuanda Jo and Andrea Joyce; great-granddaughter, Emma Jo Mitchell; and brothers, Ronald, John and Tommy Mitchell.
She is survived by her son, Michael Paul Little of Alvarado, Texas; grandson, Charles Daniel Mitchell and wife, Brandi, of Grandview, Texas; sisters, Judy Culbertson of Fort Stockton, Texas, Karen and husband, Lance Jordan, of Burleson, Texas, and Nicki Mitchell of Burleson, Texas; brother, James and wife, Jane Mitchell, of Cottleville, Missouri; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and countless nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and great-great-nieces and -nephews.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18, 2024, in the Mountain Valley Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Scott Sharman officiating.. Visitation is from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17, 2024. Interment follows at Burleson Memorial Park.
